Griffith is great to explore on your bike. The open flat countryside is pretty and inviting. If mountain biking is your thing, there are plenty of off-road trails on the outskirts of town.
– Start your day exploring the Hermit’s Cave and Lookout on Scenic Hill. Best visited at sunrise, this gives and panoramic views across the city. Wear sturdy shoes and venture down the trail to the Hermit’s Cave, following the network of stone walls, caves and gardens.
– Grab a coffee, then head out to Lake Wyangan to enjoy the views in the picnic area. Here you will witness a range of incredible water birds, or visit Campbell’s Swamp to get a better glimpse.
– When you’re getting ready for lunch, drop into any of the local cafes or delis and get a takeaway panini to take to Cocoparra National Park, a dramatic and rugged place perfect for bushwalking, bird watching or nature lovers.
